Marlow Yachts Limited, Inc. has achieved our lofty goal set before the first pencil drawings that began our aspiration to build the world's finest yachts. In less than ten years, we have created a brand name that is recognized world wide for superb craftsmanship, unfailing reliability, creative design, functionality and performance at sea or dockside. We have established the highest resale in our industry by these hallmarks coupled with the high technology and sheer beauty, continuously moving the envelope forward in every area.

Our introduction at the Miami International Boat Show in 2001 was considered to be perhaps the most successful introduction of a large yacht in history. We now have well over 100 yachts plying the oceans of the world.

On the technology front we press onward with developing the use of adhesives so strong that to separate the joined pieces, the primary structure of the joined pieces must be destroyed. They simply will not come apart at the bond line. We don’t believe a stronger yacht than our Kevlar and modified epoxy offerings exists in the world today, whether it is steel, aluminum or unobtanium. We often hear about how strong steel is from other manufacturers. Factually, steel is not as strong as Kevlar. Steel is strong for its cost, which is very low. You can buy enough steel to plate the hull of a seventy foot yacht for a lot less than the cost of the Kevlar used in our composites. Guess what the military chose for bulletproofing? Kevlar!

We have developed a proprietary method of infusing resins into laminates, called Full Stack Infusion© that produces a virtually textbook fiber to resin ratio. No ordinary laminating technique, which is employed by the majority of manufacturers, can come anywhere close to the strength or longevity of these systems. Yes, it is a lot more work and causes us to burn the midnight oil routinely to find the best method and how to economically include it in the manufacturing process. The benefits it produces are not arguable except by the ill informed or those who recognize their own products inadequacies.

The future of the composites industries is as bright as the sun. Every day new products are introduced that replace steel, aluminum and other materials in products as diverse as bridges and airplane wings. Kevlar has replaced steel where armor plating is required to be really bulletproof and in applications where the weight of steel is a liability. Kevlar is much stronger than steel and does not deteriorate or corrode. The Marlow Explorer contains huge amounts of exotic Kevlar fabric designed to strengthen an already dynamic monocoque structure. Our resins are far beyond the normal “standard” and exhibit far greater strength and adhesive qualities compared to those used in all but the finest yachts. Our gel coats are not a stock off the shelf drum of goo tinted to suit a desired color. They are precisely and individually formulated specifically for us for each yacht produced. The formulation changes with the seasons to take into account the differing temperatures and humidity levels, which can affect final quality of the gel coat.

Extra effort required? You bet! Worth it? Absolutely!

It is becoming an axiom across the spectrum of manufacturing that if you are looking for a product material that performs, use composites. At sea you will feel the confidence generated by the surrounding quality and the knowledge Marlow Yachts Ltd. did their best, right down to the small details. Marlow-Norsemen vows to continue the proud tradition and pursuit of the world’s finest yachts.
